Its signature educational philosophy has become known as the Reggio Emilia Approach which many preschool programs around the world have adopted. The Reggio Emilia approach to teaching young children combines the natural development of children as well as the close relationships that they share, with nature and the environment. ~Putting It All Together
This workshop focuses on creating and executing meaningful and appropriate lesson plans that ensure compliance with SR guidelines and that allow for individualization of instruction. Through hands-on activities and discussions, participants will gain a working knowledge of whole group and individual goal setting, meaningful planning, and time management strategies taylored to their programs' expectations. Participants will leave with materials designed to streamline their current processes for optimal results.
*Each program should bring one copy of their curriculum with them.

Infants and toddlers are active learners and can play an important role in selecting their own learning experiences! In a responsive curriculum, the planning focuses on finding strategies to help infant-toddler teachers find ways to keep alive children’s internal motivation to learn about the people and experiences that are important to them. This workshop will explore specific factors to consider when developing an infant-toddler curriculum.

This session will cover the 5 content areas of math that are set forth by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and will also explore math in the eyes of the Connecticut Preschool Curriculum Framework as well as NAEYC Accreditation. Come prepared to get actively engaged in math materials and experiences............
